Douglas Edward Miller, 37, of Hammond, La., was arrested Sunday morning in Highlands in connection with a fire Friday night at Midway Bible Baptist Church in Brevard. He is charged with breaking and entering in a place of worship, larceny and burning of a place of worship. All three charges are felonies. Three Highlands police officers and a Macon County Sheriff’s deputy arrested Miller on Highway 64 near On the Verandah restaurant, said Highlands Police Chief Bill Harrell.
