The Literacy Council of Highlands will be hosting its inaugural Giving Thanks for Literacy event from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 23 in the Peggy Crosby Center.

Students are invited to participate in Thanksgiving-themed arts and crafts. There also will be a read-a-loud session and discussion of a Thanksgiving-themed book.

“Good literacy touches all aspects of a person’s life, and is the foundation for future success,” said Laura Miller, programs coordinator. “This Thanksgiving, we at the Literacy Council are grateful for the opportunity to meet the literacy needs of the people of Highlands, and we give thanks that we are able to continue our mission through the coming year.”
Giving Thanks for Literacy is a free event and open to the public. Snacks will be provided.
