The Macon County Historical Society, in partnership with local photographer Michael Rogers, will showcase a docudrama “Civil War Letters of Macon County” on Nov. 21 at the Smoky Mountains Center for the Performing Arts in Franklin.
The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. A pre-show of period music and introductions of re-enactors begins at 6:45, and the screening starts at 7:30 p.m.
The film is based on the research of letters and diaries from period residents of Macon County and shows how the war affected the citizens of Macon County. The film features re-enactors from western North Carolina.
The Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts is located on U.S. 441 South. Tickets for the performance are $8 for adults and $5 for students. They are available at the Macon County Historical Museum, 36 W. Main St., Franklin, and the Franklin Chamber of Commerce, 425 Porter St., Franklin.
