Description:

Volunteers are requested for Earth Day at the Highlands Botanical Garden. Work will be done from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 22. Lunch and tools will be provided. All skill levels are welcome. Visit highlandsbiological.org/earth-week/ for more information or to register.

Earth Day conservation lecture: Nature Center director Patrick Brannon will present a talk about the impact of discarded bottles along our mountain roads and the mortality of small mammals at 7 p.m. April 22 at the Biological Station. The lecture is free and appropriate for all ages. Visit highlandsbiological.org/earth-week for more information.

 

Garden tour: Celebrate Arbor Day with a guided “Living with Trees” tour of the Botanical Garden. Guides will discuss noteworthy trees on the plateau as well as their identification, residential use and care from 2-4 p.m. April 25. Visitors will leave with a tree to take home and plant.
