The Nantahala Hiking Club will take a 12-mile strenuous hike Oct. 13 with an elevation change of 3,000 feet up Mt. Cammerer in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Meet at the Dillsboro Huddle House at 8 a.m. Call leader Don O’Neal, (828) 586-5723, for reservations. Visitors are welcome, but no pets.
