Tucked just being a line of trees and a grassy field, down an unfinished driveway off of Cave Spring Road, lies a nearly 100-year-old manor between two 20-acre lakes, and this property is open for private events.

The property now called Belle Terra has been family owned since 1918, and retired teacher Latrelle Jones began offering the space for weddings and other events about five years ago.

Carefully crafted around the property lie gardens, water gardens, an indoor conservatory with an outdoor feel, and a seven-room building, all available for rent.

“We’re got mountains on one side and a lake on the other,” said Jones, whose husband built the gardens and buildings himself.

Belle Terra is a venue only, so brides can pick their own vendors for all other services, but Jones said they will provide seating, as well as set-up and tear-down. Their business has mostly been word of mouth the past few years, but the folks at Belle Terra have been busy.

There are multiple sites suitable for weddings on the property, so a bride could find exactly what she wanted, whether it’s a garden wedding surrounded by blooming flowers or a lake-side event with an aquatic view. And the conservatory provides a roof and transparent walls should summer showers fall on the big day.
