A Biodiversity Festival is planned for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 20 at the Biological Station, 265 N. Sixth St. Celebrate the diversity of the southern Appalachian Mountains with faculty from the Biology Department at Western Carolina University. Join for one or all of these groups: 10-11a.m.: Birds with Dr. Jeremy Hyman 11 a.m.-noon: Bacteria with Dr. Sean O'Connell noon-1 p.m.: Salamanders with Dr. Joe Pechmann 1-2 p.m.: Aquatic Macro-Invertebrates with Dr. Tom Martin 2-3 p.m.: Wrap-Up with Clay Bolt, co-founder of Meet Your Neighbours (www.meetyourneighbours.net) The festival is free and all ages are welcome.
