The Village Play Playground, located at The Village Green in Cashiers has been restored and expanded and will reopen on June 26.
Festivities begin at 4:30 p.m.with a ribbon cutting ceremony, a tour of the new features, food and goodies, and lots of fun.
“With full hearts, we thank the generous donors and volunteers who made the restoration and expansion of the Village Play Playground possible,” said Ashlie Mitchell, executive director of The Village Green. “We also want to thank the original volunteers who worked tirelessly over five days to build the original Village Play structure. Because of your kindness, there is a treasured place built for joy —where laughter echoes, imaginations soar, and memories take root. Your support means more than you know—and the children who play here today, and for generations to come, will feel the love behind every step, swing, and slide!”
Now brighter and more fun than ever, with brand-new play structures and exciting new amenities, the playground is ready to welcome families for many more years of joyful memories.
This celebration is also a moment to honor the original volunteers and donors who came together over 20 years ago to build the Village Play Playground from the ground up. Their vision and commitment gave our community a space where families connect, friendships grow, and the joy of childhood is nurtured every day.
The event runs from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
