On August 3, 2020, the University of North Carolina filed an application with the Federal Communications Commission for renewal of license of TV Translator station W35CK-D, which is licensed to serve Highlands, N.C. The station is licensed to transmit from a site at the following coordinates: 35 2 21.3 N 83 13 3.5 W, on channel 35, with an effective radiated power of 0.6 kW. The station rebroadcasts WUNF-TV, Asheville, N.C., which operates on channel 20. Individuals who wish to advise the FCC of facts relating to the renewal application and to whether this TV translator station has operated in the public interest should file comments and petitions with the FCC by November 2, 2020, by writing to the FCC, Washington, DC 20554.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON REQUEST FOR ANNEXATION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Town of Highlands Board of Commissioners via Electronic meeting, on the 20th day of August 2020, beginning at 7:00 p.m., on the question of annexing the following described property owned by Old Edwards Inn and Spa, LLC, requested by petition filed pursuant to NCGS 160A-31:
336 Arnold Road consisting of the following properties:

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Regular Meeting of the Town of Highlands Board of Commissioners will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 7:00pm via an Electronic meeting. The Town of Highlands, Macon County and the State of North Carolina are under a State of Emergency with provisions for social distancing, limits on gatherings. The Town under North Carolina General Statute 143-318.13 will host an electronic meeting. This meeting will be hosted via zoom and will be available for call in and web access. All interested residents/citizens are encouraged to participate.
