Highlands Cashiers Players present Deathtrap
Highlands Cashiers Players will present Deathtrap, a comedic thriller by Ira Levin, Oct. 30, Nov. 1 and 2 and Nov. 6-9 at the Martin Lipscomb Theater in the Highlands Performing Arts Center.
The play is directed by Michael Lanzilotta. April Getz is the apprentice director, Cathy Myers is the stage manager and Jayne Pleasants is the line coach.
Deathtrap holds the record for being the longest running comedy-thriller on Broadway. It is the story of playwright Sidney Bruhl, who is struggling after going years without a hit play. When an aspiring playwright who has attended one of Sidney’s seminars writes what is sure to be a hit, Sidney may just let his ambition and greed get the better of him.
The cast includes Craig Eister as Sidney Bruhl and Bet Hunter as his wife, Myra. Todd Lipphardt plays novice playwright Clifford Anderson. Emily Wright returns to the HCP stage as attorney Portia Milgrim, and Diandra Mundy plays Dutch psychic Helga Ten Dorp.
Thursday and Friday performances are at 7 p.m., Saturday pre-dinner shows are at 5 p.m. and the Sunday shows are 2 p.m. matinees.
