R.E.A.C.H. raises more than $48,000 at Mardi Gras Fundraiser
R.E.A.C.H. of Macon County raised more than $48,000 at its annual Mardi Gras fundraiser, held to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. The event, held in Franklin, featured the REACH Royalty Court competition, which saw local teams raise more than $23,000 through creative fundraising and community engagement efforts.
Mary Adair Trumbly and Dr. John Baumrucker were crowned 2026 Mardi Gras King and Queen for their leadership and fundraising efforts. Other members of the Royalty Court were Debra and Lee Cloer, Gosia Tiger and Cassie Putnam, and Courtney Brendle and Gabe Leatherman.
Each team hosted fundraising challenges, engaging supporters across the community.
Proceeds from the event will support R.E.A.C.H.’s 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, court advocacy, prevention education, and newly launched forensic nursing services. A portion of the proceeds will also support the development of the future Victim Advocacy Center, bringing R.E.A.C.H. one step closer to breaking ground on a dedicated space designed to provide coordinated, trauma-informed services under one roof.
“This event represents the very best of our community,” Executive Director Andrea Anderson said. “When community members step forward and neighbors rally behind them, it creates real impact for survivors who depend on our services.”
R.E.A.C.H. officials thanked the Royalty teams, sponsors, volunteers, silent auction donors, and every individual who attended or contributed. Their generosity strengthens R.E.A.C.H.’s mission to provide hope, safety, and advocacy for survivors across Macon County.
