19th Annual Songwriters Round supports local students
Event Details
The Blue Ridge School Education Foundation will host its 19th Annual Songwriters Round, an unforgettable evening of music, storytelling and community impact, on Aug. 23. The event will be held at Boys and Girls Club of the Plateau’s Keller Pavilion in Cashiers and features a lineup of award-winning Nashville songwriters behind some of the biggest hits in country music.
Returning to the stage as headliner is the celebrated Rivers Rutherford, joined this year by new voices to grace the event’s stage: Tim Nichols and Jim Beavers. Nichols is best known for Grammy-winning songs like “Live Like You Were Dying” and “Heads Carolina, Tails California.” Beavers brings his impressive resume, including hits such as “Red Solo Cup,” “Drink a Beer,” and “Parachute.” Also returning to the stage is acclaimed songwriter Kelly Lovelace. Together, they promise an evening of unforgettable performances and the stories behind the songs.
Proceeds go directly toward supporting Blue Ridge School and Early College, which serves 350 students from Pre-K through 12th Grade and Early College. Funds raised help the Foundation provide essential resources beyond what the county and state can provide. This includes technology upgrades and academic enrichment opportunities. Plus, the Foundation funds CTE, college, and career readiness programs. None of which is possible without this support.
“It’s our favorite night of the year — not just for the incredible music, but for the purpose behind it,” says Ali Moody, Foundation Vice President. “This event helps us ensure that every student at Blue Ridge, no matter their background, has access to the resources and opportunities they deserve.”
The Foundation is seeking local businesses and individuals to sponsor the event or donate items to the popular silent auction. Sponsorships range from $2,500 to $10,000 and include various levels of event recognition, promotional exposure, and reserved seating. The silent auction features contributions from local boutiques, restaurants, golf clubs, and more.
