Ashlie Mitchell
The Village Green Executive Director Ashlie Mitchell will be resigning effective later this year. Mitchell has served as Executive Director since 2021.
During Mitchell’s tenure, The Village Green achieved significant milestones, including the completion of the new raised boardwalk through the wetlands, the restoration and expansion of The Village Play Playground, securing state and regional grants and donations for park improvements, Lewis Hall use, conducting and implementing a comprehensive master plan, and adding new acreage to the park. Under her leadership, the organization has expanded community use of the park, enhanced visitor experience, and advanced the park’s mission of preservation and public enjoyment.
“We are incredibly grateful for Ashlie’s dedication and leadership over the past four years,” said Kinsey Harper, board chair of The Village Green. “Her passion for The Village Green and commitment to our mission have been instrumental in our progress. We wish Ashlie the very best in her future endeavors.”
“After four wonderful years as executive director of The Village Green, I am stepping down to pursue new opportunities. I am extremely proud of the progress we’ve made — from expanding programs and community events to completing major capital improvement projects and deepening our community partnerships. I want to thank everyone who has supported me and the organization along the way. I am confident the team will continue to build on this foundation and I look forward to staying connected and watching the organization thrive in the years ahead.” said Mitchell.
The Board of Directors will immediately begin a search for a new executive director and is confident that the work done by Mitchell and the dedication of our staff, volunteers, and supporters will ensure a smooth transition and continued success for The Village Green.
