Classical guitarists to perform at FPC

The Interlude Concert Series which is sponsored by First Presbyterian Church continues with a concert at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2, featuring classical guitarists Andrew York and David Mattingly.

Grammy award winner Andrew York is one of today’s best loved composers for classical guitar as well as a performer of international stature. His compositions blend the styles of ancient eras with modern musical directions, creating music that is at once vital, multi-leveled, and accessible.

Stephen Mattingly enjoys a vibrant career as Associate Professor of Music at the University of Louisville, where he directs classical guitar studies. He is a member of the Kentucky Arts Council Performing Arts Directory and has performed at Carnegie Hall, in Poland, Panama, and Germany.     

There is no charge for the Interlude concerts which constitute a ministry in music to the community. Dress is casual- come as you are.

First Presbyterian Church is located at the corner of Main and Fifth Streets. Handicapped accessible entrances are located on Church Street and on Fifth Street.
