Representatives of the Highlands Neighborhood Coalition have begun holding meetings with the candidates for Mayor and Board of Commissioners to discuss how each candidate stands on the issues most important to residents and neighborhoods.
“There are issues that are important to our neighborhoods and these meetings will help us gauge which candidates are best suited to address those issues,” said James Worrell, Coalition Board Member. “We will communicate what we learn to our members and to the general public so that they can make better choices when voting and contributing to candidates.”
The Coalition delivered a brief questionnaire to the candidates and is following up with in-person meetings to discuss their responses and other issues important to residents.
Cathy Henson, President of the Coalition said, “We are pleased with the positive responses we’ve gotten from the candidates, and we are especially excited at the tremendous response we’ve gotten from residents and neighborhoods about the Coalition and the work we are trying to do on their behalf.”
Results of the Coalition’s findings will be distributed through its contact lists and to the local media outlets.
The Highlands Neighborhood Coalition is a grassroots organization dedicated to preserving the character of HIghlands and to protect its neighbors and neighborhoods.
