Highlands resident arrested for meth trafficking

Rabun County, Georgia, deputies seized a bag filled with methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Feb. 3

A traffic stop in Tiger, Georgia, on Feb. 3 led to the arrest of two people for trafficking of methamphetamine. 

On Feb. 3 deputies with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Ga. 15 near the intersection of Rabun Park Drive after observing a traffic violation. 

Upon further investigation of the traffic stop, Laura Surelle Henry, of Highlands, was arrested and charged with felony trafficking of methamphetamine, possession and use of drug related objects, driving with suspended registration and failure to maintain lane, according to a statement from the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office. 

 Crystal Louetta Carpenter, of Clayton, was arrested and charged with felony trafficking of methamphetamine. 

Both Carpenter and Henry were transported to the Rabun County Detention Center for booking. No bond information was provided for either inmate.
