Budget work kicks off with annual town retreat

A budget work session for the Town of Highlands Board of Commissioners took place last week to go over initiatives that are currently in development, among them being some updates on projects that are currently in the works.

In front of a packed house inside the Martin Lipscomb Theatre the Highlands Cashiers Players raised the curtain on their 30th season with a production of “The Outsider.

A sinkhole appeared at the Ingles shopping center parking lot in Cashiers last week, much to the surprise of many shoppers.  While the sinkhole was repaired by property management within the span of a couple days, their frequent nature does lead to questions regarding what should be done with them.

Highlands didn’t need to rely on the luck of the Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. The Highlanders got off to a hot start and never looked back in a 9-1 win over rival Blue Ridge on Monday afternoon.
