Mr. Patrick “Pat” Franklin Moore, III, 77, of Aiken, SC, passed away Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021.

Pat was born in Northfield, MN, a son of the late Patrick F. Moore, Jr. and Marie Whatley Moore. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama and former Division President of Owens Corning Fiberglas.

He and his wife of 56 years, Kitty Welborn Moore, spent much of their recent years in Aiken and Highlands. A lifelong philanthropist, Pat dedicated his time to many organizations, including the Performing Arts Center in Highlands, Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival, First Presbyterian Church in Highlands, The Rotary Club, and Aiken Center for the Arts. He served two terms as President of Highlands Country Club.

He is survived by his wife Kitty; daughter Shanon M. (Richard) Cheney of Rocky Mount, NC; son Patrick F. (Angie) Moore, IV of Morrow, OH; grandchildren Catherine C. (Alex) Fleming, Alexandra Cheney, Quinn Moore, Jake Moore, Grace Moore, and Charlee Moore; sister Sunnie Smith of Atlanta, GA; and several nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his family and countless friends.

In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Moore of Anderson, SC.

A Celebration of Pat’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Aiken with the Rev. Dr. Tim McClendon and the Rev. Dr. Lee Bowman officiating.

The service will be livestreamed through the St. John’s website at https://stjaiken.org/

A second memorial service will be held in Highlands, in the summer of 2022.
