Preparations for the fourth annual Bear Shadow music festival scheduled for this weekend, May 11-12, are underway at Winfield Farm in Scaly Mountain, where crews are setting the stage for headliners JJ Grey & Mofro on Saturday and Black Pumas on Sunday. A limited number of tickets for the Bear Shadow music main stage, called “Base Camp,” are still available online and will be sold at the gate.
Also set to take the stage this weekend are American Aquarium, Futurebirds and North Mississippi Allstars on Saturday, and Grace Bowers, The Record Company and White Denim on Sunday.
Gates open on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., and shows will be 2:30-9:30 p.m. On Sunday, gates open at 12:30 p.m. and the performances run from 1:30-8:30 p.m. The full schedule and lineup can be found at bearshadownc.com/lineup/.
Free shuttles will run continuously between Downtown Highlands and Winfield on Saturday from 1-10 p.m. and on Sunday from 12-9 p.m. Shuttles will pick up/drop off guests at the Highlands Community Center (864 N. 4th Street), Highlands School (545 Pierson Drive), Regions Bank (161 Spring Street), and directly at Base Camp gates. Limited on-site parking passes are still available for $25 per car, each day for Saturday and Sunday.
At Base Camp, ticket holders will have access to multiple food trucks and food vendors. GA and VIP ticket holders can also enjoy included beer, wine, water and other non-alcoholic beverages. Complimentary small plates from local and regional food partners, along with selected spirits will be available for VIP ticket holders.
As a reminder, all kids 18 and under are free with the purchase of an adult ticket.
