With a much-anticipated Presidential election less than three months away, the Center for Life Enrichment in Highlands is offering guests the opportunity to pick the brain of an expert on elections in America.

Ben Ginsberg is an experienced attorney who has gained notoriety by representing the Republican Party and its candidates, as well as seated members of Congress and state governors. He will make the trip to Highlands for a pair of lectures at CLE on at 2 p.m. on Aug. 21 and 10 a.m. on Aug. 22.

Ginsberg’s first speaking engagement is entitled “Restoring Public Confidence in Elections – The Impact of Election Denialism on the US.” In this lecture Ginsberg will discuss the role of fair and accurate elections in a democracy and look at how some citizens have come to believe that US elections are not legitimate.

According to a recent study, nearly 30 percent of Americans believe that election results are not reliable. Ginsberg will delve into the allegations, evidence, and long-term impact the lack of faith in the election system is having nationwide. He will also offer some suggestions for ways that local, state, and federal government bodies can restore confidence in the voting system and the validity of results.

On day two of Ginsberg’s run at CLE, his lecture will be all about the upcoming Presidential race. “Crystal Balling the November Election – 11 weeks out” will look at the race for the White House. Ginsberg, who has represented both individual candidates as well as the Republican Party will discuss how each campaign is viewing their chances in November.

The lecture will also cover the changing moods of the electorate, key forces influencing the vote, and which voters in which states will decide the balance of power.

Aside from being an experienced lawyer, Ginsberg has served as co-chair of the Presidential Commission on Election Administration. He testified at the second public hearing of the January 6 House Select Committee regarding the 2020 election results, and he is currently the Volker Distinguished Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institute.

The cost for each of Ginsberg’s lectures is $30 for CLE members and $40 for non-members. For more information, or to register, visit www.clehighlands.com or call 828-526-8811.
