Highlands volleyball wins regular season title

Less than a week after knocking off archrival Blue Ridge in straight sets, Highlands prevailed a second time over the Bobcats on Thursday night. The Lady Highlanders cruised to a 25-11, 25-22, 25-9 victory on Senior Night.

The Highlands Board of Commissioners voted to approve an amendment to the town’s Unified Development Ordinance related to short-term rentals within Highlands town limits Thursday. The draft proposal had been reviewed and amended during a special work session on Aug. 25.
