Last Thursday saw Highlands face off against Blue Ridge in a home varsity volleyball game. The Bobcats faced a rocky start before finding momentum late in the game, albeit too late to halt a Highlander victory.
With a home court advantage, the Highlanders came out with a fury.

Cullasaja Women's Outreach awards grants

Cullasaja Women’s Outreach recently announced the results of its 2023 fundraising campaign. The independent collective of 99 women, focused on local philanthropy, is awarding $355,000 in grants to Highlands and Cashiers area not-for-profit organizations.

On Friday, Fontana Regional Library will host author Jeffrey D. Lofton at Cashiers and Highlands. Lofton will be discussing his book “Red Clay Suzie,” a book that draws inspiration from Lofton’s personal experiences growing up as an outsider. Lofton will appear at the Cashiers library at 1 p.m.

Teeter has become increasingly accomplished as a young rider. Teeter recently placed 12th in the Wrangler Youth Bull Rider Finals in Abilene, Texas.
