Antiques show returns to Cashiers for 45th anniversary

The annual Cashiers Antiques Show is returning Aug. 4-6 to The Village Green Commons. The show, now in its 45th year, was originally held at Blue Ridge School for the first 43 years before being cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stubborn Seeds set to open on 4th Street

Adventurous Highlanders may soon bump elbows with a new eatery sprouting. Stubborn Seeds, a tapas fusion bar, will soon open  at the location previously owned by the Bock family and operating as the Bridge at Mill Creek. Stubborn Seeds has a selection for all taste buds.

High Country Wine opens its doors

On Wednesday, July 5, the Highlands Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of High Country Wine and Provisions, owned by California wine maker Guy Davis of Davis Family Vineyards.
History buffs made their way through Highlands Memorial Park on Friday and Saturday as part of the “Walk in the Park” fundraiser hosted by the Highlands Historical Society. Local actors portrayed famous Highlanders from several generations since the town’s founding.

Highlands is preparing to welcome the annual shrimp boil fundraiser for Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park on Saturday, July 15. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the dinner will start around 6 p.m.
