Planning board votes against amortization of STRs

The Town of Highlands Planning Board voted unanimously at their meeting Monday, July 22 to turn down a proposed new rule to amortize short-term vacation rentals in some zoning districts in town.
The proposed new rule was approved by the Town Board at their last meeting.

Playground fundraising effort underway

Volunteers with the Rotary Club of Highlands grilled 1,250 hot dogs at the town baseball field on July 4. Thanks to record crowds, the free franks were gone in under an hour.
