Music lineup unveiled for Food and Wine

The 8th annual Highlands Food and Wine festival taking place Nov. 7-10 will feature headliners Greensky Bluegrass, Lee Fields & The Expressions, Love Canon and Wilder Woods, according to an announcement today from Highlands Festivals, Inc. Tickets will go on sale Thursday, June 13 at 12 p.m.

The 2024 Highlands School Teacher of the Year is Joy Archer, who is stepping down this year. It’s a deserved retirement, as she’s been teaching kids in Highlands for 29 years.

Those who feel like they haven’t seen “Grease” lately will have a chance to fix that for the next few weeks at the Highlands Performing Arts Center. The classic stage musical will be performed live by the Mountain Theatre Company from Wednesday, June 5 all the way through Saturday, June 22.

One Wicker Cheese Co. owner Sophie Delaney wants to introduce customers to cheese from all over the country and the world. The inspiration to open the new shop at 539 Main Street came from several of the things she herself enjoys. “I knew I loved bread, cheese and wine,” she said.

The Highlands School Class of 2024 has graduated after a ceremony on Saturday morning, May 25, which saw several speakers reflecting on the past four years at the school and what the future could hold. Musician Flynn Morris played the bagpipes to start things off.
