One of America’s most celebrated storytellers to present at CLE

Internationally known storyteller, Connie Regan-Blake will be presenting a workshop on storytelling at the Center for Life Enrichment in Highlands today. Growing up in the American South, Regan-Blake said she was surrounded by storytelling at a young age.

Local student qualifies for YBR World Finals

Highlands resident, Gus Teeter, will be heading to Abilene Texas for the Youth Bull Riders World Final in August. Teeter, who is now 12 years old, has always had an interest in bull-riding and rodeos.

Town approves $27.39 million budget for FY 2022-23

The town of Highlands approved a $27,392,428.00 budget on Thursday during a regularly scheduled meeting, for the 2022-23 fiscal year. The overall budget was approved 4-1, with commissioner Marc Hehn opposing.

Rotary Club to raise money for recent HHS grad

The Highlands Rotary Club and the Highlands School Interact Club will be working in collaboration with one another to hold a fundraiser at the Rotary Club’s annual July fourth hotdog cookout to raise funds for a recent Highlands High School graduate, Seth Staffelbach.

Highlands local raising money to help his father

Since getting in a car accident in 2019, life for Highlands local Austin Baty’s father, Scott, has never been the same. In an attempt to make his father’s life easier, Baty has started a GoFundMe, with $1,705 raised already. “In 2019, my father was in a car accident in Cashiers,” Baty said.
