With a record of 5-5 for the season, the Highlands School varsity boy’s soccer team finished its season with a loss to Mountain Heritage High School last Monday, 2-1.
The Highlanders took a long drive to Burnsville and were able to keep the score even at 0-0 at the half.

What started out with conversations about winegrowing with his plant biology professor turned into a full-on career for FEL Wines winemaker Ryan Hodgins.
Raised in the Pacific Northwest, Hodgins attended Oberlin College in Ohio, where he often had conversations with his teacher about winegrowing.

CLE executive director retires after 30 years, Hovis to fill shoes

After 30 years with the Center for Life Enrichment, and 10 years as executive director, Sandy Carlton is retiring.
Since the CLE’s inception, Carlton said she has been a part of the organization.
“I have worked for CLE since the very beginning,” Carlton said.

Wreaths Across America set to accept sponsorships

Every year, volunteers with Wreaths Across America honor Highlands’ veterans in December with a ceremony.
Event organizer Phil Potts said they are now accepting sponsorships for wreaths.
“Wreaths Across America is a national company started by a wreath company out of Maine,” Potts said.
