Jessica Moschouris, art teacher at Highlands School, is supporting and encouraging students as they paint a mural in the middle school wing. Principal Holbrooks and Moschouris began talking about projects at the end of last school year.

Mountain Theatre Company has announced its 2024 Mainstage Season. In what will mark the theatre company’s 86th season, an exciting lineup of shows has been released that will have something for everyone. The Mainstage Season will kick off May 31 with Grease as the first production of the summer.

HCH donates to local food banks

Thanks to a competition, Highlands-Cashiers Hospital received $35,000 to donate to local charities. This reward, plus nearly 435 pounds of canned goods, will be split between Fishes & Loaves food pantry in Cashiers and Highlands Food Pantry.

North Carolina Sen. Kevin Corbin and Rep. Karl Gillespie took time out of their Christmas legislative break to stop in Highlands on Wednesday. And they brought along a couple of very important ceremonial checks.

The Highlands Food and Wine Festival will pass a major milestone in its charitable giving following a successful four-day run in 2023. According to event organizers, the festival will likely surpass the $200,000 mark when it comes to giving back to the community.
