Highlands holiday events start with "Light up the Park"
The Cashiers Chamber of Commerce handed out the Spirit of Community awards during a ceremony at Happ’s Place. Paul Robshaw of Vision Cashiers received the “Evergreen Award.” Kurt Pusch, of Summit Charter School, was named “Educator of the Year.”

A crew from Bryson Grading and Paving is working to rebuild NC106 near the Blue Valley Overlook. The roadbed was compromised during heavy rains brought on by Hurricane Helene in September. Work is expected to continue through the end of the year.
