Breast Cancer Awareness 2021

With October being National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the radiology department at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital encourages residents to get regular mammograms to catch breast cancer early.

Native Highlanders create video series to preserve history of town

Two Highlands natives are determined to preserve the history of the Town of Highlands by creating a video series titled: Rooted in Highlands. Kevin Fitzpatrick’s family has lived in Highlands since the 1920s and he said he started recording interviews with local Highlanders since the 1970s.

Highlands on the Half-Shell set for this weekend

One of the biggest fundraising events for the Highlands Biological Foundation, Highlands on the Half-Shell, is set for this weekend. The annual fall festival is back after a one-year hiatus due to COVID-19. The event began in 2014, when board members decided to start a new, fun event.
