At their meeting Tuesday night, June 20, the Board of Commissioners debated taking more stringent measures to combat short-term vacation rentals in town. They also heard an update on the 2024-25 budget, passed some zoning changes and voted on funding a new playground construction next year.

Cashiers Historical Society’s “Faces and Places of Cashiers Valley” has received an exciting face lift. The second edition will be available June 25 for $85. CHS will celebrate with a book reception party June 25 at 5 p.m. at the CHS grounds.

Small and local pharmacies have felt a tightening grip over the years, to the point where many have been forced to close doors or resort to other methods, like retail, to offset the squeeze. Drug costs continue to rise while drug availability can struggle to meet the demand.
