Grover Ray McCall Sr.

Grover Ray McCall, Sr., 95, passed away Monday, April 27. Mr. McCall was born June 9, 1924 in Cherokee County, to the late Samuel Richmond McCall and Dovie Smith McCall. A public memorial service will be held at a later date when all the health restrictions with the COVID-19 are over.

Leila Burke Holmes

Leila Burke Holmes, age 97, died Thursday, April 30, after a brief illness.  A graveside service will be held for the family at Riverside Cemetery. The service will be performed by Reverend Bryan Hinson Rector at St Paul’s Episcopal Church, assisted by Dr Shelton P Sanford, a nephew.

Mary Muse Butler Jellison

Mary Muse Butler Jellison, 83, of Highlands, passed away on April 9, 2020.  Mary was born during the early morning hours of September 30, 1936 along with her twin sister, Mildred Lee Butler at Jackson Hospital in Miami, Florida.

Marylou Fouser

Marylou Fouser passed away peacefully in hospice on Friday, April 10. She suffered a brain injury that resulted from a fall and with several days in the ICU was unable to recover. She is survived by her husband David.

Ed Whitby

Ed Whitby loved to recite “The Cremation of Sam McGee” by Robert W. Service. He did it at cocktail parties, for strangers on trips in foreign lands, and at nearly every opportunity that presented itself. And then his memory left him and he recited it no more.
