Updated museum considered gift to town

The Highlands Historical Society teamed up with Western Carolina University students and the Mountain Heritage Center to give the Historical Museum a complete makeover. “This has been a culmination of a year-long project,” Highlands Historical Society president Obie Oakley said.

Highlands Festivals, Inc. announced the musical headliners for the 5th Annual Highlands Food and Wine Festival, which is set to be held Nov. 11-14, 2021, in Highlands, will include Amos Lee, Hiss Golden Messenger, Devon Gilfillian and Rufus Lee and The Handful. Presale began at 10 a.m.

Zonta makes donation to REACH

The Zonta Club of the Franklin Area has presented reading materials for women to REACH in Franklin.  Fifty booklets on financial management and two self-help books were given at a presentation at the REACH for Bargains store. Zonta supports REACH in Jackson County and Macon County.
