Families making plans to buy a Christmas tree in the Cashiers area this year will be sad to hear that one tree farm has made the tough choice to close for the season due to a tree shortage.

Half-Mile Farm hosts Fireside Chat

On Saturday, Half-Mile Farm hosted a Fireside Chat with food author John T. Edge and his wife, artist Blair Hobbs. Residents of Half-Mile Farm were able to sit around the fire and talk with Edge and Hobbs about life, love, marriage, art, food and life in Oxford, Miss.

CHHS announces new fundraiser ‘Putts Fore Paws’

The Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society has announced an inaugural golf tournament to benefit the animals at their no-kill shelter. Almost a year in the planning, this new fundraiser and “fun-raiser” will occur during the peak of leaf season, Monday, Oct.

Highlands Historical Society’s 11th Annual Dazzling Dahlia Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday Sept. 11-12, from 10 a.m., to 5 p.m., all around Highlands. The 11th Annual Dazzling Dahlia Show will be held Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Bascom, from 1 - 4:30 p.m.

Renowned wine connoisseur, award winning journalist and entrepreneur Cathy Huyghe is visiting the Center for Life Enrichment tomorrow to teach Highlanders the differences in Pinot, wine grapes. Huyghe got her start in the wine industry by taking part in a program called 365 Days of Wine.
