Highlanders split

The Highlands School varsity basketball teams were back in action on Friday night, splitting games against Swain County High School.   Girl’s Game: Highlands – 58 Swain – 37   The Lady Highlanders got an early start and held on to beat Swain County 58-37.

Highlander boys basketball takes down Summit

Fresh off a two-week Christmas break, the Summit Bears boys basketball team fell to the Highlanders, 64-27, at home on Tuesday night. The Highlanders outscored the Bears 10-3 during the first quarter.

HHS sweeps battle with Blue Ridge

It was a battle of the plateau on Dec. 14, as the Blue Ridge Bobcats varsity basketball teams hosted Highlands School Highlanders. Highlands prevailed in the girls game 64-25 and the Highlander boys claimed a 63-35 win.

HHS splits on Friday night

The Highlands School varsity basketball teams split in a matchup between Hayesville, Friday night. With the split, both teams are now 2-4 for the season.

Homecoming heartbreak

Basketball season is now in full swing as the Highlands School varsity basketball teams opened the season splitting with Towns County on Friday night.

HHS soccer ends season against Mountain Heritage

With a record of 5-5 for the season, the Highlands School varsity boy’s soccer team finished its season with a loss to Mountain Heritage High School last Monday, 2-1. The Highlanders took a long drive to Burnsville and were able to keep the score even at 0-0 at the half.

Little Smoky Mountain Tourney Champs

The Highlands School Lady Highlanders varsity volleyball team is not only the Little Smoky Mountain Conference Champs, but they are also working their way through the NCHSAA State Playoff brackets after defeating East Wilkes High School on Saturday in straight sets.   HHS vs.

HHS cross country travels to Robbinsville

The Highlands School Cross Country team traveled to Robbinsville on Tuesday, Oct. 6, to participate in the Currahee Classic. Timothy McDowell placed highest for the day in the two-mile run with a time of 12:58.20 to place fifth. Jim De La Cruz placed 14 in the two-mile run with a time of 14:02.
