The Highlands Biological Foundation’s highly anticipated Zahner Conservation Lecture series is set to captivate audiences once again on Thursday, June 22 at 6 p.m. Prepare for an enlightening evening as horticulturist Adam Bigelow takes the stage to discuss “Native Plants for the Vegetable Garden.

The Highlands Performing Arts Center will present the Empire Trio, back by popular demand on Sunday, June 11 at 7:30pm. Empire Trio is an exhilarating and uniquely talented classical crossover ensemble, that has been taking concert halls by storm all over the world.

Plant sale draws hundreds

A cold drizzle did nothing to slow the droves of plant lovers who lined up bright and early for the annual Mountain Garden Club plant sale on Saturday. With dozens of varieties of native plants available for purchase, volunteers did their best to direct traffic once the floodgates opened at 9 a.m.

Since its grand opening in 2022, the new theater at the Highlands Performing Arts Center has been receiving rave reviews. In order to keep the facility in tip top shape, the PAC staff and board will be hosting the first-ever “Gala Review” at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 3.

If you want to be among the crowd to watch Steep Canyon Rangers tear up the Highlands Performing Arts Center stage, you hopefully bought your tickets early. For the second time in as many shows, the PAC is completely sold out for Sunday night’s performance.

After 25 years of Sky Valley City Hall being located at 3444 Highway 246, it officially will be relocated less than a mile up the road to 3608 Highway 246 in Sky Valley in the next few months.

Growing up, High Hampton pastry chef April Franqueza has always had a love for baking. It runs in the family, since her mother, grandmother, and father also had a passion for baking, especially cakes made in the shapes of bunnies or elephants.
