Bear Shadow music festival – set to return for a jam-packed two-day weekend event in Scaly Mountain, May 11-12, 2024 – is offering a blind ticket presale with ‘early bear’ discounts for single-day and two-day tickets.

Old Edwards Inn has teamed up with Asheville’s Chemist Spirits and the Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust to create a botanical gin using native wild juniper that was hand-harvested nearby on a protected parcel of land under the trust’s stewardship.

The Highlands Cashiers Health Foundation is celebrating the success of Highlands Country Club’s 41st Annual Bob Jones Invitational Golf Tournament, which raised an unprecedented amount of over $284,000 in net proceeds.

Multiple fire departments battle Trillium blaze

An engulfing structural fire at a Trillium property Oct. 10 prompted a heavy response. The Cashiers-Glenville fire and rescue squads, Highlands fire, Cullowhee fire, and Lake Toxaway Fire Department all showed up to help battle the blaze and control the fire. A call came in at 1:38 p.

In a celebration of community spirit, the Highlands Chamber of Commerce proudly honored exceptional individuals and organizations at its Autumn Ovation event held last night. The annual gathering brings together Chamber members to network and celebrate the honorees.
