Author and journalist John Pruitt is coming to the Center for Life Enrichment on Wednesday, June 19 to discuss his new book, “Tell It True” – and, consequently, to talk about race relations and injustices in the U.S., which the book deals with in a fictional form.

In previous summers, working parents have taken their children down the road to the Boys and Girls Club of the Plateau’s campus in Cashiers for childcare during the day. This year, they won’t have to do it anymore, as the Boys and Girls Club has a new location in Highlands.

The hit musical “Grease” is the first production of the Mountain Theatre Company for its summer season.

When one walks into the library for the next month, they will see what appears to be a collection of ornate flower displays. Closer observation will reveal that they’re actually delicately-made paper sculptures crafted by artist Cynthia Woodsong. “What I do, I call them paper botanicals,” she said.
