The Sky Valley Garden Club will host “An Enchanted Evening” of Dahlias by the Lake for its annual scholarship fundraiser on Sept. 16. The event will be held on the patio at the Sky Valley Country Club from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a beautiful evening with live music, appetizers and drinks.

Whistling Past Eternity exhibit to open at Brevard College

BREVARD, N.C. – Acclaimed artists Mark Connelley and David Sheldon will be exhibiting a variety of works titled “Whistling Past Eternity” at Spiers Gallery at the Sims Art Building on the Brevard College campus Aug.  28 through Sept. 26. This exhibition is free and open to the public.

Registration opens for Cashiers Cares Golf Tournament

On Monday Sept. 15 Cashiers Cares will have its Golf Tournament at Trillium Golf Club. Trillium has hosted this fundraising event for the past four years supporting Cashiers Cares and the 10 local non-profit organizations  that receive the proceeds for their programs.

The Mountaintop Art and Craft Show opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23 and runs thru 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 24 at the Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park, Highlands. The show is sponsored and produced by Mountaintop Rotary Club of Highlands.

PAC: ‘Social Security’ back to the stage

Last May, Highlands Cashiers Players gave the community a small taste of Social Security, a heartwarming comedy by Andrew Bergman, but had to close after only three performances when several cast and crew members were diagnosed with COVID.  This time around, a full eight-show run is planned for Aug.
