Big fun for little people

For the second year in a row, Blue Ridge Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM) and the Cashiers Historical Society (CHS) collaborated to host the JarrettFest Summer JAM Camp on the CHS campus. Children aged seven to 17 gathered to share the joy of music, play games, and create crafts.

Concert helps kids

The Jackson County Tourism Development Authority (TDA) has launched its Birding in Jackson County guide—a free, full-color publication designed to help locals and visitors discover one of the most engaging outdoor activities the region has to offer.

Eubanks finds the fabulous ordinary

Celebrated author and nature writer Georgann Eubanks will be the featured speaker for the next installment of the 2025 Zahner Conservation Lecture Series. Her talk, titled “Finding the Fabulous Ordinary,” will take place on Thursday, Aug.  7 at 6 p.m. at the Highlands Nature Center.

Village Play: Kids celebrate opening

Man drowns in Lake Glenville

The body of a swimmer who disappeared on Lake Glenville on July 27 has been recovered following an extensive multi-agency search effort.  At 4:22 p.m. this past Sunday, the Glenville-Cashiers Rescue Squad responded to a report of a missing swimmer at Pines Recreation Area.
