Celebrated author and nature writer Georgann Eubanks will be the featured speaker for the next installment of the 2025 Zahner Conservation Lecture Series. Her talk, titled “Finding the Fabulous Ordinary,” will take place on Thursday, Aug.  7 at 6 p.m. at the Highlands Nature Center.

After an initial delay following previous weather events, the Village Green in Cashiers has finally kicked off the grand opening for the highly anticipated expansion titled The Village Play, providing an onslaught of new activities for kids.  “I think the playground is fantastic.

The body of a swimmer who disappeared on Lake Glenville on July 27 has been recovered following an extensive multi-agency search effort.  At 4:22 p.m. this past Sunday, the Glenville-Cashiers Rescue Squad responded to a report of a missing swimmer at Pines Recreation Area.

Local musicians Ezra and Katie will donate 100% of the proceeds from their upcoming Friday Night Live performance to the Gordon Center for Children, including their performance fee and all tips received during the show. The concert will take place on Friday, Aug. 1, at Town Square in Highlands.
This first-time event helps Cashiers Cares continue its mission to fund smaller, local non-profits serving this area.
